I have 35 years of experience, and specialize in the field of supply chain management with specific knowledge in the areas of global supplier selection, supply chain networks and transportation. I have published on such topics as the development of landed cost models, terrorism and railroad security and benchmarking procurement processes. My experience is approximately evenly split between industry and academia. Most of my industry experience has been with sourcing raw materials for the chemical industry, managing import-export operations, and assuring safe and responsible transportation of hazardous materials. During a two year hiatus from academia I did strategic planning projects for a major U.S. railroad. My non-teaching academic experience has focused on developing non-competitive benchmarking methodologies that can be employed in a wide range of venues.
