I have 36 years of experience, and specialize in the field of actuarial science with specific knowledge in the areas of defined benefit pension plans, pension cost projections and employee benefits. I have published on such topics as the advantages of defined benefit over defined contribution plans. I have testified on defined benefit plan funding, calculation of retiree pension benefits and qualified domestic relations orders (QDRO’s). Prior to becoming an actuary, I taught math for four years from junior high to college level courses. That experience combined with over 36 years in the actuarial field provides me with an ability to communicate complex issues in a way that laymen can understand them.
