I have 18 years of experience, and specialize in the field of public transportation with specific knowledge in the areas of public transit bus safety, public transit training and public transit operations. I have published on such topics as bus operator training, safety culture development in public transportation and guidelines in transit training for bus operators. I have testified on bus and pedestrian collision, bus patron alighting collision with a passing vehicle and bus rollover collision. While I was director of safety and training at Houston METRO, I led the efforts that set three national safety records for the lowest incident / accident rate of any public agency in a city of more than 1 million people.
