I have 39 years of experience, and specialize in the field of geology with specific knowledge in the areas of geophysics, drainage and petroleum operations. I have published on such topics as geophysics, drainage development and coalbed natural gas exploration. I have testified on drainage issues, subsidence issues and erosion issues. I grew up in Oregon and attended the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. where I initially received my BS in Physics and later my MS and PhD in Geology. I taught one year in Arizona and have been here in Louisiana for 36 years. I have traveled over most of the US (as well as Mexico and Guatemala and parts of Egypt and Indonesia)as a geologist/geophysicist (much of this travel for research and/or teaching) so that I have a geographically broadbased knowledge of geology/geophysics. I have intentionally kept my career broadbased, both geographically and amongst sub-disciplines of geology, because I believe that an eclectic mind will arrive at novel solutions.
