I have published on such topics as media history, First Amendment rights, and Middle Eastern media. I have testified on shield laws. I had two careers, one as a television news executive producer, reporter and executive, and one as a professor in what of the most respected schools of journalism in the U.S. I also served two assignments in the Middle East which gave me some understanding of Arab media.
