I have 20 years of experience, and specialize in the field of martial arts with specific knowledge in the areas of jiu-jitsu, street-fighting and chokeholds/nerve strikes. I have published on such topics as street-style self-defense, multiple attacker situations and realistic self-defense. As a doctor, I have been able to use the knowledge obtained in medical school to better assist the teaching of martial arts. My students know human anatomy and when they should and should not use the techniques taught to them. My area of expertise is in nerve attacks and chokes, which enable smaller victims to survive attackes from larger opponents.
