I have 11 years of experience, and specialize in the field of literacy education with specific knowledge in the areas of black women and formal literacy, arts based instruction, and research methods that involve the use of interviews and video documentation. I have published on such topics as language and culture in the classroom, basic to higher education experiences for black women, and school reform. I am presently teach pre-service teachers and veteran teachers methods of improving reading and writing in high school classes. I am also working on my sixth book.
