I have 35 years of experience, and specialize in the field of escrow and title insurance with specific knowledge in the areas of loan fraud and escrow, real estate closings and title insurance claims. I have published on such topics as ethical considerations, and real estate title and title insurance in Texas, and changes in claims handling under the new Texas/ALTA policies. I have testified 25 times on topics such as title insurance industry practices and procedures, escrow duties and liabilities, and claims handling procedures and practices. In addition to my title industry experience, I have practiced law in Texas and Maryland, worked for the Texas and New Mexico insurance departments on regulation of title insurance, and have experience as a detective in the Major Fraud Unit of a county police department.
