I have 19 years of experience, and specialize in the field of psychiatric medications with specific knowledge in the areas of depression, suicide and pharmacokinetic. I have published on such topics as antidepressants, mood stabilizers (eg – lithium, valproic acid, atypical antipsychotics) and stimulants. I have testified on antidepressants, lithium and suicide. I have been actively involved in the mental health community as a teacher, clinician, researcher and patient advocate. This work has led to many publications and grants, as well as media interviews. Most recently, I was appointed to an institute of medicine commission on parental depression.
