I have 32 years of experience, and specialize in the field of obstetrics and gynecology with specific knowledge in the areas of pregnancy and birth, gynecologic surgery and laparoscopic surgery. I have published on such topics as obstetrical trauma, natural childbirth and women’s choices in birth. I have testified 50 times on topics such as birth injuries, failure to diagnose breast cancer and gynecologic surgical complications. I have attended about 6000 births, performed or assisted on over 1000 cesarean sections and gynecologic operations including advanced laparoscopic surgery, and have taught medical students and residents at the university level over the past 47 years. The most remarkable thing about my practice has been my ability to relate to my patients as intelligent human beings and to honor their cultural and social values regarding pregnancy, birth, and surgical interventions.
