I have 10 years of experience, and specialize in the field of school choice with specific knowledge in the areas of policy and law, local board training and ethnocentric schools. I have published on such topics as charter schools, school choice in the Republic of Ireland and religion and cultural in schools. I have an unusual dual career. I was trained as a physicist and chaired the department of physics and astronomy for a number of years. About ten years ago, after being elected to the state board of education, I became interested in school choice. Since then, I have managed to achieve a national reputation for my work on various aspects of charter schools (collective bargaining issues, ethnocentric charter schools, language immersion schools).
