I have 25 years of experience, and specialize in the field of biomedical engineering with specific knowledge in the areas of biomedical nanotechnology, biotechnology and biosensors. I have published on such topics as protein detection, expression and engineering, molecular imaging and biocojugate chemistry and surface science.I am trained as a molecular geneticist, but am known as one of the founders of the field of nanobiotechnology. I published the first scientific monograph focusing exclusively on the topic of biomolecules in nanodevices in 1998. In this context I am a member of the editorial boards of three journals in nanotechnology and one in biotechnology. My work is intensely cross-disciplinary, and I have published extensively in engineering disciplines, as well as the molecular biology literature. My primary disease state expertise is in oncology and cardiovascular disease.
