I have 20 years of experience, and specialize in the field of immunology with specific knowledge in the areas of autoimmunity, molecular immunology and diagnostics. I have published on such topics as type 1 diabetes; T cell development, molecular recombination and cell death and apoptosis. I am an associate professor in the department of medicine. I teach occassionally, give national and international lectures and primarily oversee a biomedical research team. In addition I perform research in the lab on occasion. I am very well funded by the NIH, American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I am scientific advisor for a biotech startup company that is designing autoimmunity diagnostics and therapeutics.
