A Slippery Slope? Expert Witness Sued in Canada

In Canada, a woman accused of murdering her daughter won the right to sue an adverse expert witness based on his investigative findings. This comes at a time when many litigation experts argue that the "gate-keeping" function of judges does not go far enough to limit the perceived "power" of expert witnesses. If this case serves as the basis of a further check on the use of expert witnesses, more vigorous vetting of experts will definitely be needed.
